New Delhi: A drastic change in the Indian viewers’ attitude has been noticed in past some time against Bollywood for more than one reason, and serving the audience with copied content seems to top the list.
Also, the South films are creating massive buzz in the Hindi belt of this diverse nation and the latest Box Office reports are proof of it.
On the last weekend, two Bollywood biggies made their way to the theatres including Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.
Despite both the films featuring top B-town stars and being made with a gigantic budget, the movie duo are striving to collect even Rs 50 crore at the box office.
Not just that, both the movies were astonishingly outshined by a Telugu film Karthikeya 2 made under a regular budget of Rs 30 crores.
Nikhil Siddhartha’s mythological suspense drama registered an unprecedented jump of 300 per cent on the third day of its release.
The movie was released with only 50 shows in the Hindi belt, but after receiving a good response from the audience, several cinema halls reportedly swapped the shows of LSC with it.
As per Box Office India, “Karthikeya 2 is beating Laal Singh Chaddha in Gujarat and will also go ahead of Raksha Bandhan in the next few days. In Maharashtra it will also go ahead of both films before the week is out”.
Meanwhile, the one week collection of Laal Singh Chaddha has been even lower than that of the Day 1 earning of Khan’s previous flot venture Thugs Of Hindostan.
Akshay Kumar’s emotional drama also disappoints and fails to bring viewers to the movie halls. The film made with a total of Rs 70 crore futher fails to garner even a basic mark of Rs 50 crore.
On the other hand, Karthikeya’s lead actor Nikhil took to Twitter and wrote, “#Karthikeya2 has Crossed 700k $ dollars and Racing Towards 1 Million… These are the USA THEATRES LIST … plz catch #Karthikeya2 in theatres and do spread the word… love u all for this terrific response”.
