Laapataa Ladies OTT Release Date: The film’s poster, posted by Netflix India on Instagram, announced the film’s April 26th midnight release date.

New Delhi: Laapataa Ladies, a production by Aamir Khan that has received widespread critical praise and was directed by Kiran Rao, is now made available on Netflix starting today – April 26.

The film was Kiran Rao’s return to directing duties. This Aamir Khan-backed picture premiered at the esteemed 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and then went on to cinemas on March 1, 2024.

The comedy-drama is now fully available to watch on over-the-top platforms, allowing audiences to relive the plot without leaving the comfort of their own homes, almost two months after its theatrical debut.

Plot

The film follows the escapades of a pair of young newlyweds who get disoriented while riding the same train. There will be plenty of hilarious and touching moments among the subsequent mayhem, which is sure to include mistaken identities and hilarious adventures.

A newlywed husband’s life takes an unexpected turn when he is mistaken for someone else on a crowded train, and he is separated from his traditionally-veiled wife. Mistaking one veiled bride for his own, he takes her home and is unaware of the confusion. Also, his real wife goes on an unplanned adventure after accidentally arriving at the incorrect train station. The deserted lady must negotiate unknown terrain as the husband desperately looks for his missing wife.

The long-awaited premiere date of the film Laapataa Ladies was formally confirmed by Netflix yesterday, April 25, 2024.

Cast and Crew

Pratibha Ranta plays Jaya, Sparsh Shrivastava plays Deepak, and Nitanshi Goel plays Phool. With a stellar cast that includes Savita Malviya, Khusbhoo Chowbidkar, Govind Lovaniya, Aman Shrivastava, and many more supporting characters.

Both Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande served as producers for the picture. The Laapataa Ladies film is an adaptation of Biplab Goswami’s award-winning short tale and is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions. Both the script and the dialogue have been written by Sneha Desai, with Divyanidhi Sharma contributing extra lines. Produced by Jio Studios, this marks Kiran Rao’s return to directing after her critically acclaimed Dhobi Ghat.
