New Delhi: After multiple delays in its release, Rajinikanth starrer Tamil Sports drama Lal Salaam will finally hit the digital screens this month. The movie initially arrived on the big screens on Feb 9, 2024, & received a moderate reaction from the public.
Now, after about 2 months since the movie’s premiere in the cinemas, the filmmakers have decided to roll it out on SunNXT where it will start streaming from 12 April onward.
Lal Salaam on OTT in Hindi
The digital giant SunNXt has confirmed that the Vishnu Vishal starrer movie will arrive on the portal this month, allowing viewers with a subscription to enjoy it in Hindi & a few other languages from the comfort of their homes. The film will start streaming in Hindi on the OTT Platform this Friday (12 April 2024).
Earlier, reports of Lal Salam making its digital debut on Netflix were doing rounds all over the internet. As per those reports, the Aishwarya Rajnikanth directorial was initially scheduled to be released on the leading global OTT giant back in March 2024.
However, due to some unknown reason, the film’s premiere got delayed numerous times & eventually, it failed to make it to Netflix & is now just days away from its digital release on another streaming platform.

Lal Salaam at the Box Office
Lal Salaam was released by its makers on the big screens amid huge expectations & fan buzz surrounding the movie.
However, despite offering a decent storyline & being loaded with the Star power of Thalaiva Rajinikanth & World Champion Kapil Dev, the sports film remained unsuccessful in achieving anything remarkable at the Box Office.
It ended its theatrical run with a mere global collection of Rs 33 crores (Approx) & was labeled as a passable movie by major film critics.

Helmed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam boasts a star-studded leading cast. It features Vikranth & Vishal Vishnu in prominent roles while having Rajnikanth & Kapil Dev in special appearances. Other key roles in the movie are played by Senthil, Jeevitha, Nirosha Radha, Vivek Prasanna, and other actors.
Subaskaran Allirajah is the producer of the movie who released it bankrolled under the banner of Lyca Productions on 9 February 2024.
