Lyrics and name of Sunny Leone's 'Madhuban' song to be changed, following minister's warning

New Delhi: Following Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra’s warning to Sunny Leone, Singers Shaarib and Toshi to apologise and withdraw their music video ‘Madhuban mein Radhika, Jaise jungle me nache mor’ within three days, Music label Saregama has announced that the company will “change” the lyrics and the name of the song.

Music label Saregama took to social media to give the announcement and wrote, “In light of the recent feedback & respecting the sentiments of our fellow countrymen, we will be changing the lyrics and the name of the song Madhuban,”

“The new song will replace the old one across all platforms over the next 3 days,” Saregama said.

Narottam Mishra, who is also MP government spokesperson, said that “Some vidharmis are constantly hurting Hindu sentiments. The video ‘Madhuban me Radhika nache’ is one such condemnable attempt. I am warning Sunny Leone ji, Shaarib and Toshi ji to understand. If they don’t remove the song after apologising in three days, then we will take action against them,”

The song was released on December 22 and garnered over 98 lakh views on YouTube till December 26.

However, this is not the first time Sunny Leone’s new album received objection. Mathura-based priests demanded a ban on the video as they found the actor’s dance on this song to be objectionable. “We will go to court if the government does not act against the actress and ban her video album,” said Sant Naval Giri Maharaj of Vrindaban.

Akhil Bhartiya Tirth Purohit Mahasabha’s national president Mahesh Pathak stated that Sunny Leone throughout the song has defamed the prestige of Brijbhumi by presenting the song in a “derogatory manner.”

Mohammad Rafi originally sang ‘Madhuban mein Radhika, jaise jungle me nache mor’ that featured in the 1960 movie Kohinoor. The song featuring Sunny Leone is a rendition of that iconic version where only the phase Madhuban mein naache Radhika has been taken from the earlier one.
