New Delhi: The untimely demise of veteran Bollywood actor Satish Kaushik has shaken the entertainment industry. The actor and film writer took his last breath in Gurugram on Wednesday. He succumbed to a sudden heart attack at the age of 66.
The ‘third wheel’ that ruled Hindi cinema for the last 3 decades was no less than the main character in his loved ones’ life. As many industry friends are sharing their memories with Satish, his closest friend Neena Gupta shared her ode to the veteran actor.
Satish Kaushik stood by Neena Gupta in her toughest times. In her book “Sach Kahu toh,” the actress revealed how Satish Kaushik expressed his wish to marry her when she became pregnant with her daughter Masaba.
Masaba Gupta is the daughter of West Indian player Viz Richards, who had been dating Neena Gupta for years despite being already married. As a result, when Neena Gupta became pregnant out of wedlock, she had to raise Masaba as a single mother.
Satish proposed to Neena as he didn’t want her to ever feel alone. His heartfelt gesture moved Neena to tears.
In an earlier interview, Satish Kaushik also talked about this incident in great detail. He revealed that as a true friend, he wanted to give her support and confidence. He said that his proposal came from a place of affection, respect, and concern.
Satish’s words of promise to Neena are what every friend wants to hear. He told her “main hoo naa tu chinta mat kr.”
Neena wrote in her autobiography that this made their friendship even stronger.
