Plot
Ruby Bell, a bright scholarship student at the elegant Maxton Hall School, tries to maintain a low profile throughout the story.
The offspring of prominent politicians, diplomats, and businesspeople are descending to Maxton Hall in droves to have a good time. However, Ruby is determined to stay out of trouble if she wants to attend her chosen college. Life changes for Ruby when she inadvertently discovers the shocking truth about the haughty rich heir James Beaufort.
