New Delhi: Slumdog Millionaire fame actor Dev Patel recently made his directorial debut with latest action-thriller Monkey Man.
After premiering in the SXSW fest back on March 11, the movie, starring Dev, Sharlto Copley, and Vipin Sharma in key roles, graced the theaters in the US, Canada & few other countries on April 5, 2024, emerging as a massive commercial hit in North American markets almost instantly.
Monkey Man at Global Box Office
Made on a mediocre budget of USD 10 million, Monkey Man received overwhelming positive word of mouth from fans and critics who all hailed it a masterpiece in the same voice.
All thanks to the positive reviews, the film performed extremely well in theaters, stashing away a whopping USD 24.3 million from the ticket windows within the first 11 days.

Monkey Man release date in India
Dismissing the ongoing rumors about a ban on Dev Patel’s blockbuster actioner from releasing in India, a recent report has suggested that Monky Man is currently undergoing a censoring process with the CBFC.
As per the report, Monkey Man’s distributors (Universal Pictures) have already applied for a release certificate with the board which can be granted to them in the coming week.
This means that fans can expect the Sobhita Dhulipala starrer action-packed thriller flick to hit the theaters in India anytime around 1 May 2024.
Monkey Man OTT Release
Meanwhile, leading global streaming giant Netflix has bought Monkey Man’s digital rights and will make it available for watching on its platform after the conclusion of its BO run.
While an exact OTT release date for the movie is yet to be unveiled, reports hint that it might arrive on the digital platform by May 20, 2024.

Monkey Man tells the tale of a vengeful monkey-masked fighter (Kid) who embarks on a mission to hunt down a corrupt police chief & fake spiritual leader who mercilessly murdered his mother when he was a child.
