Monster Japanese Movie OTT Release Date: Watch Soya Kurokawa’s chilling psychological drama in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu on This platform 

The film first graced the 76th edition of the prestigious Cannes Movie Festival in May 2013 before hitting the theaters a couple of weeks later on June 2, 2023.

New Delhi: Sakura Ando and Soya Kurokawa starrer psychological mystery thriller Monster is ready to enthrill the OTT audience.

Helmed by ace Japanese producer-director Hirokazu Kore-eda, the film first graced the 76th edition of the prestigious Cannes Movie Festival in May 2013 before hitting the theaters a couple of weeks later on June 2, 2023.

Now, the Eita Nagayama starrer is gearing up to make its OTT debut on Book My Show where it will start streaming in Japanese, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi from May 17, 2024.

This means that viewers who missed the chance to watch Monster on the big screens can now enjoy it while sitting comfortably inside their homes. However, a payment of Rs 149 will be required to access the film on the digital platform.

Monster Plot 

Written by Yuji Sakamoto, Monster circles around the life of a single mother Saori Mugino, (Sakura Ando) and her son Minato Mugino (Soya Kurokawa) with the former getting extremely worried about the latter’s changing behavior.

As Minato’s behavior starts to become increasingly absurd with time, a concerned Saori tries her best to know the reason behind her son’s condition and even pays a visit to his school with the hope of getting answers to her questions.

At the school, she gets infuriated after hearing that one of  Miato’s teachers Michitoshi Hori (Eita Nagayama)  has bullied her son in the recent past.

Meanwhile, Hori denies the allegations, claiming that it is Saori’s son who has been harassing another child Yori for being feminine & nerdy.

However, both the teacher and mother soon learn that the actual reason behind Minato’s abnormal behavior is entirely something else, something that goes beyond their imagination, something that the young boy is scared to even speak about.

Cast and Production

Monster’s cast is loaded with the star power of a set of actors including Sakura Ando, Eita Nagayama, Soya Kurokawa, Hinata Hiiragi, and Akihiro Tsunoda in pivotal roles. It is produced by Fuji Television Network in association with Bun-Buku, AOI Pro, Gaga, and Toho.
