New Delhi: My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, which was released in theatres in 2023, is scheduled to make its debut on over-the-top platforms in India. At it is ready to be released on Jio Cinema on January 22, 2024, the third instalment of the popular romantic comedy series will be available to watch.
A long-awaited return to the iconic Greek family tale, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 has already been released on the platform – Peacock on November 3, 2023. An interval of seven years has passed since the release of the second film in 2016, and eleven years have passed since the beginning of the series. This new third instalment has finally arrived.
Nia Vardalos was the director and writer of the movie, and she also played the role of the female protagonist. Other cast members were John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone, Lainie Kazan, and Andrea Martin.

Plot
The Portokalos family goes on an adventurous journey to Gus’s Greek village in response to a false reunion invitation, after a series of unfortunate deaths in the family. Gus gives his daughter Toula the responsibility of delivering his journal to his village friends just before he dies.
Among the unexpected revelations they encounter while searching for Gus’s friends is Peter, Gus’s unknown child. The joyous nuptials that revitalise Vrisi mark the final stage of the family’s ordeal with secrecy, challenges, and budding relationships. The family draws strength from their common Greek heritage and one another as they mourn Gus’s passing and form new friendships. An exciting family outing is born out of this effort.

On September 8, 2023, the film was released to theatres in the US by Focus Features. Despite the mostly unfavourable reviews, it has generated $39 million worldwide.
In 2002, the first film My Big Fat Greek Wedding was out, and in 2016, a sequel followed. Some seven years after the second film’s debut, the third instalment came out.
