Nautilus OTT Release: Nautilus is a 2024 adventure drama series that reimagines the origin story of Captain Nemo, a character from Jules Verne’s classic novel “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.”

The series has received mixed reviews. While the concept and lead performances have been praised, some critics have pointed to weaknesses in supporting roles and writing. The cast highlights Shazad Latif, Georgia Flood, Richard E. Grant and Anna Torv.

Nautilus will soon premiere on Amazon Prime Video. No streaming date has been finalized.

Plot 

The series begins with Nemo,  an Indian prince who is living a comfortable and privileged life. However, the East India Mercantile Company abruptly turns his life upside down by taking his family and birthright from him. This company is a powerful and corrupt colonial force.

This traumatic event sets Nemo on a path of vengeance. Determined to seek retribution, Nemo escapes from captivity and embarks on a journey that will change his life forever. He steals a prototype submarine, which is an innovative and highly advanced vessel, named the Nautilus. This marks the beginning of his transformation into the legendary Captain Nemo.

The Nautilus is a state-of-the-art vessel, capable of traveling vast underwater distances. It becomes Nemo’s weapon of choice in his quest for justice. As he navigates the world in the submarine, Nemo gathers a crew of unlikely companions each with their own motivations and backgrounds. Together, they set sail on a high-stakes adventure, hunting for answers. Along the way they pursue Nemo’s personal vendetta against those who wronged him.

The series blends elements of adventure, drama, and action, but it also dives into deeper themes of revenge, betrayal, and identity.
