New Delhi: New releases appear on the bill weekly on our favourite OTT platforms, and material is being released at a dizzying rate. The most popular OTTs include content that caters to every taste, whether it’s action, drama, romance, or mystery.
The festivities started strong on the first day of the new year, and here we are during yet another one. Consequently, on January 1st, every OTT platform—from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to Zee5—released many films for movie lovers to binge-watch, and the platforms made a killing.
1. The Good Doctor Season 6 (Netflix)
Season 6 of The Good Doctor, in which Freddie Highmore reprised his role as Shaun Murphy at St. Bonaventure Hospital in San Jose, has concluded. The protagonist, Shaun, is a gifted surgeon who, despite his autism and savant condition, is met with scepticism upon joining a famous hospital.
2. Gatta Kusthi (Netflix)
The male chauvinist Veera has his standards when he searches for a wife. But he marries Keerthi, who is completely at odds with his expectations. Now the romantic comedy twist happens when the truth is exposed.
3. Exodus: Gods and Kings (Netflix)
The action-adventure film follows the 600,000 slaves as they embark on a historic trek to freedom from Egypt and its horrific plague cycle, as the rebellious leader Moses rises against Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II.
4. Umma (Netflix)
With her baby at her side, Amanda has a peaceful existence on an American farm in this horror mystery. However, her terror of reincarnation intensifies when the remains of her long-lost mother arrive from Korea.
5. Kaleidoscope (Netflix)
The action crime miniseries follows a gang of professional thieves as they plot a massive 7-billion-dollar heist, only to have their schemes foiled by treachery, greed, and other obstacles.
6. Phone Bhoot (Amazon Prime Video)
A ghost approaches two inept ghostbusters with a business proposal in this Bollywood comedy film starring Katrina Kaif. But as the spectral figure exposes her plot, their intentions take a turn for the worst.
7. Lady Voyeur (Netflix)
A skilled voyeuristic hacker becomes entangled in a perilous inquiry when her sex worker neighbour goes on a weekend getaway in the mystery thriller series.
8. Orange Days (Netflix)
Japanese romantic drama about the unlikely meeting of a psychology major Yuuki Kai and violinist Hagio Sae on the university campus. Their newfound bond and ability to communicate via sign language empower them to overcome their worries.
