“Mein awaaaz uthaungi”: Nushrratt Bharuccha slams trolls for criticism on playing condom salesgirl

‘Janhit Mein Jaari’ tells the story of a Madhya Pradesh girl who starts selling condoms in her city

New Delhi: Nushrratt Bharucha is being mocked for endorsing condoms in her upcoming film Janhit Mein Jaari, which she is now promoting on social media. Nushrratt plays a condom salesgirl in the film, which is set to hit theatres on June 10, 2022. She responded to her critics with a video on her Instagram account.

“#janhitmeinjaari,” Nushrratt captioned her latest Instagram post. Nushrratt adds in the video, “I posted two posters from my film on Instagram a few days ago, in which I, a woman, am shown pushing condoms, but some misinterpreted it. People usually publish the best comments on their profiles, but since so much has happened with me since yesterday, I’ve decided to share the worst remarks I’ve received.”

The screen then displays a series of derogatory remarks against Nushrrat.

Bass yehi soch toh badalni hai,aap ungli uthao aur mein aawaz uthaungi (This is the type of thinking I wish to change. But don’t worry, if you point your finger at me, I’ll raise my voice).”

“More power to you and every Womaniya out there,” one user said. “Don’t hide the names,” another remarked.

“Allow people to realise that even the illiterate use Instagram. However, they are not wearing condoms and are acting on their own free will. #janhitmeinjaari”, a fan pointed out.

“There are a lot of crazy people in this world”, one person said, “and you just done the right thing by exposing their comments”, said one of her fans.

“It takes courage to take on a film on such a topic and promote it unashamedly,” one commented. “You have more and more power, daughter”, another wrote.
