OTT releases this week: From Dec 11 to Dec 15; this week gives us some amazing genres to watch this weekend

Over the weekend, you can keep yourself engaged with the numerous new releases that have been announced for different streams this week. Several new films and television series have debuted this week, including The Freelancer: The Conclusion, an action thriller by Mohit Raina, and The Crown, a highly dramatic and historically intensive drama, in its sixth and final instalment.

Japan (December 11)

Written and directed by Raju Murugan, the 2023 Indian heist action comedy film Japan was released in the Tamil language. Japan, an infamous master thief, goes on a cat and dog chase with the police when he steals gems valued at Rs 200 crore from a jewellery store in Coimbatore.

Asteroid City (December 12)

Wes Anderson is responsible for writing, directing, and producing the 2023 American comedy-drama Asteroid City. This tale takes viewers on a journey with a renowned author as they follow the plot of a fictitious play about a bereaved father whose vision of the universe is irrevocably altered when he and his tech-obsessed family go to a tiny rural Asteroid City to participate in a junior astronomy contest.

The Crown: Season 6 Part 2 (December 14)

The series is about Prince William and his journey through life, including his relationship with his grandma, his healing from his mother’s unexpected tragedy, his blossoming infatuation with Kate Middleton, and his acceptance of his fate. The romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton is detailed in Part 2 of the last season, which is the sixth overall.

Death’s Game (December 15)

As he treats death so casually, Death decides to play a cruel joke with him. He must die a total of twelve times. However, if he can find a way to prevent their impending doom, he gets to see their lives.

The Freelancer: The Conclusion (December 15)

In this film adaptation of the novel “A Ticket to Syria,” former police officer turned mercenary Avinash Kamath faces the impossible mission of freeing Aliya, a young girl caught in the middle of the Syrian civil war, amidst the growing terrorist danger from ISIS.

The Family Plan (December 15)

Dan Morgan, the protagonist, is a normal guy who used to be the world’s greatest assassin. Now he’s a family man. Dan secretly tries to keep his former life a secret from his wife and children as he takes his family on a vacation to Las Vegas. But his past has finally caught up with him.

Yoh! Christmas (December 15)

Even though Thando, is a 30-year-old woman who values her autonomy, her mother never stops nagging on the fact that she is. So, Thando makes up the story of having a boyfriend to fool her family. But her lies start to pile up when she has to take her imaginary boyfriend for the family Christmas dinner. Thando goes on a hilarious round of uncomfortable dates in the last 24 hours to make this imagined lover a reality.
