New Delhi: ‘Pathaan’ is moving close to its release date and the makers have announced the release of the most anticipated trailer on January 10. Meanwhile, the boycott trend and controversy over Deepika Padukone’s saffron bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ has touched a new high with people spamming hashtags on Twitter.
Hindu outfits and BJP leaders, including Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra have called for a boycott of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathaan’. People are offended by the use of a saffron bikini in the song as the colour is linked to Hinduism and is sacred for many. Some also raised objections to the lyrics of the song and said that the makers are calling saffron a ‘Beshraram Rang’ (shameless colour).

The song refers to ‘love’ as a shameless colour while it says that one has removed the intoxication of shame and the world has not yet seen the shameless colour of love. The Spanish lyrics mean that life is complete at the moment and life is viral tonight.
The song ‘Besharam Rang’ was released on December 12 and is sung by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal and Sheykhar while the lyrics are written by Kumaar. The video shows Deepika dancing in different bikinis while romancing SRK. The song is shot in Spain where the leading duo flaunted body goals.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathaan’ also stars John Abraham and is set to release on January 25.
