New Delhi: Actress Rupa Dutta, who is associated with Bengali cinema, is once again in the headlines. Though not for an upcoming series or a film, but the popular actor has been arrested on charges of pocketing.
The news has shocked Rupa Dutta’s fans as well as others from the film fraternity. According to the news reports, the incident took place at the Kolkata International Book Fair, wherein the police arrested her on the charge of pickpocketing.
Sources associated with the Uttar Vidhan Nagar police station said that on Saturday, March 12, the police saw a woman (actress) throwing a bag in a dustbin. After which the police suspected her.
After the initial investigation, a huge amount of cash was received from her. When questioned, the police found several other money bags and about Rs 75,000 from Dutta’s bag.
After getting a hefty amount and several money bags from the actress, when the police questioned her, she could not give a satisfactory answer. It is being said that she has confessed to pickpocketing in front of the police.
Also told that she used to steal money bags/purses in the crowded areas and events. Due to this, she also reached the International Book Fair in Kolkata.
After the arrest of the actress, the police has gathered for further investigation in this case. This is not the first time that apart from her professional life, Rupa Dutta has been in the news.
Earlier, Rupa Dutta, who made serious allegations against Bollywood’s famous director-producer Anurag Kashyap in the year 2020. Rupa had shared several screenshots on social media and claiming that Anurag had send her obscene messages.
It was revealed after several days that she was talking to another user named Anurag.
However, there is a strange surprise among the cinema world and people on social media regarding this matter of Rupa Dutta.
At present, the police is investigating all angles in this whole matter.
