Ranbir Kapoor summoned by ED in online betting case amid “Animal” buzz

The investigation has cast a wide net over Bollywood celebrities, including actors and singers, for their alleged connections to the Mahadev online betting case. The agency is delving into their attendance at the wedding and success party of Mahadev app promoter Sourabh Chandrakar, held in the UAE in February earlier this year.

New Delhi: While anticipation builds for Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film, “Animal,” controversies surround the actor following reports of his summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an online betting case. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, “Animal” also stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, and it has already generated significant buzz among fans with teaser releases and look posters.

On October 6, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor was reportedly summoned by the Enforcement Directorate. According to sources cited by India Today, Kapoor’s summons is linked to his promotion of a subsidiary app, also endorsed by Mahadev Book app promoters, for which he allegedly received cash payments.

The Mahadev Book app is under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate and various state police departments for its involvement in online betting activities.

The Enforcement Directorate, based on digital evidence, has unearthed startling financial transactions related to the case. Reportedly, a staggering Rs 112 crore was routed through hawala channels to an event management firm. Furthermore, hotel bookings amounting to Rs 42 crore were purportedly settled in cash just last month.
