Sharing the tweet, Raveena wrote, “Just fantastic! His Punchline ” The entire British museum should be declared an active crime scene!” In the video clip, Oliver shared his view on Britishers stealing the diamond from India to put it in the Queen’s crown, which he referred to as a ‘sofa’. He also made fun of Britain’s former deputy PM Nick Clegg’s and former PM David Cameroon’s take on Kohinoor. He went on to say that as everything is stolen, ‘the entire British museum is an active crime scene’ and Raveen agrees with him.

After the death of the Queen, the debates around the ownership of Kohinoor sparked again on the internet and Raveena to the opportunity to share the clip. The first mention of the diamond dates back to Babar’s reign and from going from Mughals to Shahs and then in the hands of Raja Ranjit Singh, the diamond landed with the Britishers after the Anglo-Sikh war in 1849. Queen Victoria had it and now as King Charles III succeeds to the throne, the diamond will go to his wife Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, who has now become Queen consort.
