Rekhachithram OTT Release Date: Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan’s crime thriller to premiere online on a new date

Rekhachithram OTT Release Date: Asif Ali’s recently released thriller movie Rekhachithram will now make its digital debut on a new date. Yesterday, the film’s streaming partner SonyLIV took to its social media and confirmed that the crime thriller will hit the digital screens on March 14th, 2025.

However, within 24 hours of making the announcement, the OTT gaint rescheduled the film’s release and announced that instead of March 14th, 2025, the super-hit flick will now premiere online on March 7th, 2025.

Sharing a post on X (previously Twitter), the streamer, in its recent post, wrote, “A forgotten crime. A buried truth. Time to uncover it all. Rekhachithram streaming from 7th March on SonyLIV.”

This, without a doubt, comes as a piece of good news for all the fans who are eagerly waiting for the movie to land on OTT with bated breath.

Plot of the Film

Vivek, a recently reinstated cop who was earlier suspended from his services, is appointed as a Station House Officer in Malakkappara. There, he takes up the responsibility of working on a complicated case that involves a man who, taking to social media, has confessed to committing a heinous crime 4 decades back.

While investigating the matter, Vivkek learns about the disappearance of Rekha, a young girl who mysteriously vanished from the sets of Kathodu Kathoram back in 1985. What happens next and how this shocking learning helps the officer untangle the case by unearthing long-buried secrets is the remaining story of the film.

Cast and Production

In addition to Asif Ali, Rekhachithram, in its main cast, features Anaswara Rajan, Mammootty, and Manoj K Jayan amongst many others in key roles. It is backed by Venu Kunnappilly under the banner of Kavya Film Company and Ann Mega Media.
