Ranbir Kapoor opens up on film’s budget after Kangana Ranaut claimed Brahmastra budget is ‘Rs 650 crores’

Ranbir went on to explain that the investment made in assets like the fire VFX or effects for other superpowers will be used in three films. He said figures floating around are wrong.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has broken the silence on the budget of his latest fantasy adventure Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. This comes days after actor Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram stories to claim that the actual budget of Brahmastra is as high as Rs 650 crore. She had also questioned the film’s hit status.

Although, the makers of Brahmastra never opened up on the exact budget of the Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, but reports suggested that up to Rs 450 crore were spent by Ayan Mukerji on Ranbir-Alia starrer.

Talking about the budget, Ranbir Kapoor said that all the reported figures are wrong.

In a recent interview to the Dainik Bhasker, he said, “These days, we are reading a lot where people are discussing the budget of the film. People are saying this much is the budget and this much is the recovery. But Brahmastra is unique being where the budget is not just for one film but for the whole trilogy.”

He said that the amount invested in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is actually for the entire trilogy.

Ranbir went on to explain that the investment made in assets like the fire VFX or effects for other superpowers will be used in three films. He said figures floating around are wrong.
He said economics of one film is not the same like the economics of other films.
Ranbir said now they can move on easily to part 2 and part 3.
