Row over Lock Upp #Episode 68: Colourful attire for celebrating Eid, Prison clothing for Akshaya Tritiya

In a sensational Tweet, Chopra said the Muslim contestants of the show celebrated Eid ul-Fitr wearing ethnic dresses while Hindu inmates celebrated Akshaya Tritya in prisoners’ dresses.

New Delhi: Ahead of the two days of the finale of Kangana Ranaut’s hosted show Lock Upp, a new controversy has erupted after the tweet of Indian actress and model Sherlyn Chopra. In a sensational Tweet, Chopra said the Muslim contestants of the show celebrated Eid ul-Fitr wearing ethnic dresses while Hindu inmates celebrated Akshaya Tritya in prisoners’ dresses.

According to the actress, the incident happened in episode number 68 which was aired on May 3. On the date, people across India celebrated both festivals.

In her tweet, she also asked, why is this discrimination in a secular country like India?

The tweet was shared by Chopra today at 11: 50 am. Since being posted, the tweet received over 1,252 retweets and over 4,000 likes.

Munawar busted into tears remembering parents on Eid

On the day of Eid, Alt Balaji shared a video of the show featuring Lock Upp contestants. In the video, Munawar Faruqui can be seen bursting into tears as he was missing his parents. Seeing Munawar, Azma Fallah came near Faruqui and requested her not to cry.

”Oye, Eid ke din Subah subah kyo ro rahe ho? (It is Eid’s morning, Why are you crying?)

Munwar replied, ”I don’t try…you know? I cry less often.”

Finale date of Kangana Ranaut’s show

Kangana Ranaut’s show Lock Upp has a total of 72 episodes. It is being telecasted on OTT platforms, AltBalaji and MX Player. The finale of the show will be held on May 7. It was started on February 27 with 20 participants. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been hosting the show as a jailor. Notably, it is the first season of the show.
