The makers recently revealed her royal look from the film, which showed her in a goldish traditional outfit designed by Neeta Lulla, along with a huge necklace and heavy gold jewellery on her head and wrists.

New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in her upcoming film ‘Shaakuntalam’, which is a mythological drama based on Kalidas’ play. Her looks from the movie have impressed the fans and her royal avatar is no less than as she says, “a Disney princess.” Her costumes include lavish outfits and heavy jewellery and makers have spent considerably on them.

The makers recently revealed her royal look from the film, which showed her in a goldish traditional outfit designed by Neeta Lulla, along with a huge necklace and heavy gold jewellery on her head and wrists. The diamond jewellery for her regal looks comes from Vasundhara Diamond Roof.

According to reports, it took eight months to design the jewellery for her character and it costs a whopping amount of Rs 14 crore. The makers have used real gold and diamonds to give her the royal look required by the character of Shakuntala.

The film follows the love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, which is known to be a history-defining epic in Indian mythology as their son Bharat was the reason behind India’s name ‘Bharat’. Alongside Samantha, the film stars Dev Mohan as Dushyant. Directed by Gunasekhar, the film also features Aditi Balan, Mohan Babu, Ananya Nagalla and Gautami.

Recently, in an interview, Samantha revealed that she initially rejected the film as she just finished the shoot for ‘The Family Man 2’, where she played the character of Raji. However, she chose to play Shakuntala to face her fears.

Produced under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film will release in cinemas on April 14. The makers will also hold a trailer launch event on March 28.
