New Delhi: Marvel Studios shared the trailer of their new web series ‘Secret Invasion’, starring Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury as the character returns for his “one last fight.” Things get dark as Skrulls return to Earth and Fury has to battle them out and without the eye cap this time.
The trailer shows chaos during the time Nick Fury was absent from the action. Fury visits his grave, takes his ammunition and prepares for the fight coming his way while Avengers are not there to save the Earth. James Rhoades can also be seen warning Fury that he is the most wanted person on the planet.
The show is set to star Ben Mendelsohn and Cobie Smulders as Talos and Maria Hill while Done Cheadle returns as James Rhoades and Martin Freeman’s Everett K Ross also feature in the show. In addition, the web series will have Emilia Clarke as G’iah, Olivia Colman and Kingsley Ben-Adir as Fravik.
The show has created a buzz since the post-credit scene of ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’. It was planned to be a film but Marvel Studios decided to go for a six-episode series on Disney+ Hotstar. ‘Secret Invasion’ is expected to connect the dots between some storylines and Nick Fury is the master when it comes to bringing up people together to put up a fight.
‘Secret Invasion’ seems to be more political and spy-thriller than a conventional Marvel action film. The web show will release on June 21.
Apart from ‘Secret Invasion’, Marvel Studios also has ‘Loki Season 2’ as another anticipated show in the pipeline.
