New Delhi: Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are set to start the work on a new film titled ‘Selfiee’. The buzz on social media is on high after both actors dropped selfies on their social media platforms on Wednesday. Later, Kumar announced on Twitter that the shooting will be begun soon. However, the film is a Hindi remake of a 2019 Malayalam film ‘Driving Licence’, according to the media reports.

On Twitter, Akshay Kumar uploaded two photographs. The first photo shows Akshay is taking a selfie, wearing a bright yellow jacket and blue jeans. He captioned the selfie, ‘’Kick-starting my day with a Selfie! Because why not?’’

In the second photograph, Kumar can be seen sitting on a bike while taking a selfie with Emraan Hashmi, who is also sitting on a different bike. Meanwhile, Hashmi is wearing a blue t-shirt paired with blue jeans.
However, Emraan Hashmi also uploaded two selfies on Instagram with different captions. The selfie with Kumar was captioned, ‘’Joining the Selfie club with Akshay Kumar.’’ In the solo selfie, Hashmi wrote, ‘’New look, new vibes! Inspired by Akshay Kumar to start today with a selfie.

‘Selfiee’ Depicts the story of a motor vehicle inspector and a superstar
The plot of the film revolves around a motor vehicle inspector named Kuruvila Joseph and a superstar – Hareendran. Joseph is a fan of Hareendran and they meet when the latter loses his driving license. Following the incident, the main plot of the film begins. Reportedly, Kumar will easy the role of Hareendan and Hashmi will be seen as Joseph.
Kumar also hinted on Twitter that the film will be packed with entertainment, laughter, and emotions.

As per the news reports, the project will be directed by Raj Mehta, who earlier helmed ‘Good Newwz’. Meanwhile, Karan Johar will fund the project under his banner Dharma Productions.
