New Delhi: The DC Extended Universe is back with the sequel of ‘Shazam’, this time it is called ‘Shazam! The Fury of Gods’. DC dropped the much-awaited trailer at the San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer dropped various Easter Eggs for the fans to enjoy.
The first few seconds of the trailer give moments of joy to DC fans as it features cameos of popular characters like Ezra Miller’s Flash, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. The trailer shows that the story of Billy Batson continues as he questions his worth as a superhero. His condition also makes him go to a paediatrician for therapy. The trailer introduces the Daughters of Atlas who is unhappy seeing Baston and his family’s hold on the power of the gods. The plot will feature Shazam fighting the gods for the sake of his family.
The film features Zarachy Levi as Shazam alongside Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Meagan Good as Super Hero Darla, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi and others. ‘Shazam! The Fury of Gods’ is directed by David F. Sandberg, who also directed the prequel to the film.
The trailer shows an Annabelle doll at the paediatrician’s office. This is a reference to director David F. Sandberg’s ‘Annabelle: Creation’. This is for the third time, after Shazam! and Aquaman, that Annabelle is featured in DCEU films.
Shazam will release in cinemas on December 21. Meanwhile, other DC films hitting the theatres include DC League Of Super-Pets (July 29) and Black Adam (October 21).
