Sholay actor Satinder Kumar Khosla passes away from cardiac arrest

Popular veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, also known as Birbal, passed away on Tuesday evening at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital.

New Delhi: Popular veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, also known as Birbal, passed away on Tuesday evening at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. He was in his 80s. The news of his demise was confirmed by his friend Jugnu to news agency ANI. Satinder Kumar Khosla suffered a cardiac arrest, leading to his unfortunate demise. The final rites of the late actor will be held on Wednesday.

Satinder Kumar Khosla’s Death

Cine & TV Artistes’s Association (CINTAA) wrote on twitter”CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Birbal (Member since 1981)”.

CINTAA also confirmed that the last rites shall be conducted at Mumbai’s Versova Hindu cremation ground after 12 pm on 13 September.

Satinder Kumar Khosla, widely recognized as Birbal, worked in more than 500 films across various languages, including Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, and Hindi cinema. He was known for his brilliant comedic performances. His career took off with his role as Baanchcharam in V Shantaram’s film Boond Jo Ban Gayi Moti. In the iconic 1975 blockbuster film Sholay, directed by Ramesh Sippy, he played a memorable role as a prisoner, which made him a familiar face to audiences. He also appeared in smaller roles in films like Anurodh and Amir Garib.

Satinder Kumar Khosla, known as Birbal, appeared in numerous films alongside Manoj Kumar, including Upkar, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, and Kranti. He also had smaller roles in movies such as Naseeb, Yaarana, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, and Anjaam. He showcased his talent in popular films like Sadma, Betaab, Dil, Bol Radha Bol, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Anjaam, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, and many more.
