Shruti Haasan set to star in Daphne Schmon’s international film ‘The Eye’

Shruti confirmed the news by announcing it on her Instagram and thanking the makers for making her a part of the team.

New Delhi: Actor Shruti Haasan is all set to star in the international film ‘The Eye’, directed by Daphne Schmon. The actor will star opposite ‘The Last Kingdom’ fame Mark Rowley. The film is produced under the banners of Argonauts Productions S.A., Fingerprint Content and Greenshoot.

The film is based in the United Kingdom and is reported to be a dark psychological thriller. Shruti confirmed the news by announcing it on her Instagram and thanking the makers for making her a part of the team. She wrote that the team is wonderful and the actor is waiting for her fans to see the film. The shooting of the film will begin in Athens and Corfu later this month.

The story of the film follows a young widow who travels back to the place where her husband died, to spread his ashes. Upon learning about what may have claimed his life, she is tempted by a dark choice that might bring him back. The film stars another Indian actor Sarika Thakur, known for her work in ‘Baar Baar Dekho)’ and the cast includes Anna Savva, Linda Marlowe, and Christos Stergioglou. The screenplay of ‘The Eye’ is written by Emily Carlton who is known for her work in television and short films.

Apart from doing films in various Indian languages, Shruti Haasan has earlier been part of the American series ‘Treadstone’, which is part of the same universe as Matt Damon’s ‘Bourne’ film series. She will also be seen in Prabhas’s upcoming film ‘Salaar’, directed by Prashanth Neel.
