New Delhi: Punjabi actor Sonam Bajwa’s pictures with cricketer Shubman Gill surfaced again on the internet after the batter scored a double century against New Zealand. While fans were connecting the dots and building a fictional story between them, the actor cleared the air and also teased Gill with the name of his alleged girlfriend Sara Ali Khan.
A Twitter user named Xavier Uncle shared a picture of a handshake between Sonam and Shubman and wrote that this was the reason behind Gill’s back-to-back centuries. Sonam Bajwa replied to the tweet and wrote that it is all false, stating Sara’s name him her tweet. Though she directly did not mention Sara Ali Khan, her tweet was a pun using the word ‘Sara’.

Last year, Shubman attended a talk show along with Sonam, where she asked him questions about his relationship with Sara. She asked the name of the fittest female actor in Bollywood, to which Gill replied with Sara Ali Khan’s name. On being asked about dating the Bollywood star, Shubman said, “Maybe.”
Dating rumours around Shubman and Sara surfaced after they were spotted together on a flight in October last year.
In the game, Shubman Gill scored 208 off just 149 balls leading India to a victory in the first ODI against the Blackcaps. He hit a total of 19 fours and 9 sixes to power India to 349/8. While Michael Bracewell’s 140 off 78 brought New Zealand closer to the target, the visitors lost the game by 12 runs. Gill not only became the seventh overall and fifth Indian batter to score a double ton in ODIs but also became the fastest Indian to 1000 ODI runs.
