Sosyal Climbers OTT Release: “Sosyal Climbers” is an upcoming Filipino romantic comedy film set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on February 27, 2025.
Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings, affectionately known as “MaThon” by fans, first gained attention through the 2023 series “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
They have since appeared together in projects like “And The Breadwinner Is…” and the action-drama series “Incognito.” “Sosyal Climbers” marks their first lead roles in a film together.
Plot
The story follows Jessa and Ray, a financially struggling couple burdened with massive debt after falling victim to a scam. The couple is desperate to regain the fortune that was once theirs. It seems luck is on their side as an unexpected opportunity comes knocking on their doorstep.
Jessa and Ray are mistaken for new residents in an upscale neighborhood, much to their surprise and astonishment. This surprising prospect seems to work in the favor as they quickly grasp this opportunity to seize back what they had unrightfully lost.
Capitalizing on this misunderstanding, Jessa and Ray create elaborate fake identities to infiltrate high society and swindle the wealthy. Here they will finally get the chance to live the life of luxury they’ve always only dreamed of but never been able to live in.
However, the couple aren’t sure of how long this charade of theirs will last. Hence they aim to make the most of it while the opportunity to exploit their ‘luxuries’ lasts. This pretend of being a rich couple and living in luxury will test their adept skills and charm.
The greatest test however is their love for each other and how far it can be thinned out. As they navigate their new roles, the couple encounters various challenges and comedic situations. All the while they try desperately to maintain their façade and avoid exposure.
Their journey delves into themes of love, deception, and the pursuit of a better life, ultimately testing the strength of their relationship.
