Su majestad OTT Release Date: “Su Majestad” is a Spanish comedy-drama series set in modern-day Spain. The first season consists of seven episodes and has been directed by Koldo Serra and Julián de Tavira.
“Su Majestad” will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video worldwide starting February 27, 2025. The lead cast features Anna Castillo, Ernesto Alterio, Lucía Díez, and Belén Ponce de León.
Plot
The story begins in present-day Spain, where the monarchy is facing a major crisis. King Alfonso XIV, a respected yet traditional ruler, finds himself at the center of a national scandal. It is one so severe that it threatens the reputation of the entire royal family.
Amid intense media scrutiny and pressure from the government, Alfonso has no choice but to temporarily step away from public life, leaving the fate of the monarchy uncertain.
With no immediate heir prepared to assume the throne, the responsibility falls upon his daughter, Princess Pilar. However, there’s a problem: Pilar has never taken her royal duties seriously. She has spent her youth avoiding public engagements, dodging responsibilities, and living in the shadow of her more disciplined relatives.
The public sees her as a spoiled, carefree socialite, uninterested in the country’s governance. Now, as Spain watches closely, Pilar must step up and prove her fitness to rule—whether she likes it or not.
As Pilar assumes her role as the acting monarch, she quickly realizes that ruling is far more complicated than expected. Her inexperience, impulsive behavior, and lack of political savvy make her an easy target for critics. The Prime Minister and government officials do little to help, expecting her to be nothing more than a ceremonial figurehead while they handle the country’s real affairs.
However, Pilar determines to change the narrative. With the guidance of Guillermo a seasoned royal advisor, she starts to understand the intricate world of politics, diplomacy, and power dynamics.
