New Delhi: Taraka Ratna, Jr NTR’s cousin, and a film actor, died on Saturday after being in a coma following a cardiac arrest. He was just 39.

Taraka Ratna crumbled after suffering a heart attack while participating in TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh’s Yuvagalam Padayatra in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district last month. He was then immediately sent to a nearby hospital in Kuppam for diagnosis.

According to the reports, he had been in intensive care since being taken to the hospital and died on Saturday.

Taraka Ratna was the son of Nandamuri Mohan Krishna and the grandchild of famed cinema actor and ex-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao. According to family members, he was survived by his spouse Alekhya and a daughter.

As fast as Taraka Ratna’s death was announced, heartfelt sympathy flooded in from the movie industry and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Allari Naresh, a Telugu actor and film producer, stated, “It’s terrible to lose such a great friend and modest human being so soon. He’ll be sorely missed. Bai, rest in peace.”

Taraka Ratna was well known for his roles in the films Amaravathi and 9 Hours. Before entering politics, he had appeared in a few Telugu films, including his debut ‘Okato Number Kurraadu’. Unfortunately, he did not have the same success on the big screen as his relative Junior NTR of ‘RRR’ fame.
