The Boat OTT Release: The Tamil Survival drama is all set to arrive in the streaming platform from 1st October 2024 on Prime Video. The film is a survival drama set during the Pre-Independence era.

Plot

The story of the film follows the lives of people of Chennai during the World War 2, when Japan launched Aerial Bombing attacks on the british ruled areas of Colombo. Vizag and Kakkinandhiyavada.

Since the province was under the attack, it created a sense of unease among the people and eventually forcing people to leave the city. Almost 70% of the people left the city due to the fear of losing their lives.

Meanwhile, ten people managed to escape the bombing in a small boat, as they take the shelter on a boat, the boat stops and sinks mid way and the passengers struggle to survive as the boat goes down.

Meanwhile, the people sitting on the boat ask the men to hurry up as they fear losing their life from the bombings also. The people on the boat also struggle to eat and drink water. A lot of drama takes place as the people also start fighting for their religion.

However, due to these attacks the normal lives of the citizens got hampered and activities like Judiciary services and medical services were forced to function on the ground and camps for over a week.

The Japanese warplanes launched an attack on the Chennai city during one night in 1943. The film is based on true incidents from the past. How the normal people suffered and battled after the bombing took place.

The film received mixed response after its release.

Cast and Production

The film stars Yogi Babu, Gouri G. Kishan with M. S. Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Jesse Fox-Allen, Chaams, Jangiri Madhumitha and is written and directed by Chimbu Deven.
