New Delhi: Renny Harlin’s latest action thriller is titled The Bricklayer. Hanna Weg and Matt Johnson penned the screenplay for the movie, which was adapted from a 2010 book of the same name by Paul Lindsay (penname Noah Boyd).
Produced by Vertical Releasing and boasting an A-list ensemble, The Bricklayer is an espionage action thriller that hit theatres in January 2024. Finally, The Bricklayer is about to make its worldwide over-the-top debut.
Plot
The plot of The Bricklayer centres on a renegade rebel who blames the government for the murders of international journalists to blackmail the CIA.
Steve Vail, a former CIA hard-core field agent, spends his retirement repairing or constructing buildings while laying bricks. Bricks calm him because he knows they will serve their purpose and because of their consistency and adaptability. However, those who indulge in it seldom stay at peace for long, since the world will soon need their knowledge and skills.
A new and previously considered deceased danger starts murdering foreign journalists one by one and accuses the CIA of the crimes, leading to worldwide anarchy. As the United States faces potential warring nations, the CIA manages to cajole and entice Vail to return to help eliminate Radek, his old mentee-turned-friend.

Following its theatrical debut on January 5, 2024, The Bricklayer became accessible for purchase or rental on some OTT platforms.
But on April 11, 2024, the film will officially premiere on Netflix, expanding its reach beyond the US and UK to countries like India.
