The Empress Season 2 OTT Release: The German historical TV drama series is all set to premire on Netlfix on 22nd November 2024. It became the Netflix’s 2nd most watched series in a span of 2 weeks. After registering massive win in the first season, the makers are coming up with the fresh season of the show.
Plot
The second season will witness more drama, action, fear, hatred, politics and emotions. It revolves around the 17 year old Duchess Elisabeth who falls in love with her elder sister’s fiancee, Dutchess Helene.
However the two get married and arrive in Vienna. After arriving in her new house, Elisabath finds herself navigating the court politics and her husband’s family. She did not receive a warm welcome in her in-laws house.
The couple is barely able to enjoy their new wedded life they were already surrounded by the dark clouds in the family. Elisabeth’s husband had to face the wrath of his parents since he married a woman they never wanted.
Her Mother-in-law who is also her aunt opposes her the moment she steps inside the house. Her husband’s younger brother also makes the family feel that he is more capable of ruling the empire than his elder brother.
Elisabeth witness a lot of mixed reactions from her husband’s family side since she is not the one they were expecting their son to get married to.
Meanwhile the audience to witness a lot of drama and emotions towards the end of the season, Elisabeth’s mother-in-law wanted her to leave Vienna and move to Bavaria.
And leave his son. On the other hand, Elisabeth discovers that she is pregnant.
The series is directed by Katrin Gebbe and Florian Cossen and the star cast features Devrim Lingnau and Philip Froissant in key roles.
