Plot
The Wheel of Time is set in a vast fantasy world where time is cyclical, and history endlessly repeats through the turning of the Wheel. Magic, known as the One Power, is controlled by the Aes Sedai. It is an ancient order of women. Long ago, the Dragon (a powerful channeler) attempted to defeat the Dark One, but in doing so, the male half of the One Power—saidin—was tainted.
This resulted in madness for all male channelers, leading to the Breaking of the World. The series follows the search for the Dragon Reborn, the prophesied reincarnation of the Dragon, who is destined to either save or destroy the world.
The series begins in the quiet village of Emond’s Field, located in the Two Rivers. Moiraine Damodred an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah, arrives with her Warder, Lan Mandragoran. The village is attacked by Trollocs, monstrous creatures sent by the Dark One. Moiraine and Lan take the five villagers away, believing that one of them is the Dragon Reborn.
Meanwhile, Moiraine and Lan take the group to The Eye of the World, where the Dark One’s influence is growing. In the final confrontation, Rand learns he is the Dragon Reborn and seemingly defeats the Dark One’s lieutenant.
Season 2
Rand fakes his death and goes into hiding. Moiraine, having lost her ability to channel, seeks answers about the Dark One’s growing power.
Meanwhile, the Seanchan, an empire from across the sea, invade, enslaving women who can channel. Egwene and Nynaeve are taken captive.
The season ends in the city of Falme, where Rand fights against the Dark One’s followers. The world finally sees him as the Dragon Reborn, marking a major turning point in the story.
