
New Delhi: On the Maha Ashtami of Durga Puja celebrations in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan was seen immersed in festivities in Kolkata – dancing and playing dhak (traditional drum).
A two-minute video shared by news agency ANI showed the TMC MP dancing with several other women. The clip also shows her playing the drums. Nusrat was spotted in a red & white sari dancing with women.

Nusrat Jahan & other people were seen wearing masks to contain the spread of Covid-19. Accompanied by her husband, she offered flowers at Suruchi Sangha Pandal.

Durga Puja celebrations in West Bengal are a low-key affair this year because of deadly novel coronavirus outbreak which has affected people worldwide. Several state govts have issued specific guidelines for Durga Puja, Navratri and Ram Lila festivals.
The Calcutta High Court has ruled Durga Puja pandals across West Bengal as ‘no entry zones’ this year.
