‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ Box Office Collection: Holi brings in audience for Ranbir-Shraddha starrer rom-com on day 1

New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ got a Holi release and the typical Luv Ranjan film managed to bring audiences to the cinemas. The rom-com, on day 1, did well at the box office and earned about Rs 14 crore nett. Ranbir and Shraddha fans brought a colourful Holi for the stars.

Releasing on March 8, the film got Rs 14 crore nett and did really well in Delhi-NCR and Gujarat. The festival of Holi brought in people in the evening. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film earned a total of Rs 7.85 crore at the national chains. It got Rs 3.65 crore in PVR, Rs 2.75 crore in INOX and Rs 1.45 crore in Cinepolis.

As the Holi hangover and the festive season continues, the film is expected to do well on March 9 and the coming weekend might be big.

About the film

The film revolves around a couple who wants to separate but do not, so they start playing a dirty game. It is a story of a “playboy” meeting someone who is a tough competition for him. Apart from the stunning lead couple of Ranbir and Shraddha, the film also stars Dimple Kapadia and is an acting debut for producer Boney Kapoor and comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi.

The songs from the film have been well received and are ruling the charts at the moment. The trio of Pritam-Arijit Singh-Amitabh Bhattacharya returned to create their magic and from party numbers to a heartbreak track, the film has it all. ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ is running in cinemas.
