New Delhi: On July 27, 2023, the live-action Peacock series will bring back the clown, the car robber, and the motormouth marauder from the video game series, ‘Twisted Metal’.

For almost 25 years, Twisted Metal has been a dominating force in the video game market. The new comedic series Twisted Metal is bringing the iconic video game franchise to television. Following in the footsteps of previous films like The Last of Us and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the show is continuing the trend of adapting video games into live-action productions.

Plot

Extreme car combat and high levels of action are hallmarks of the PlayStation series on which Twisted Metal is based. The first game in the series was released in 1995 for the original PlayStation by Sony, and the franchise has since produced several offshoots and sequels.

The series is based on the experiences of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who each depict a social misfit man with a loudmouth who is given a chance at a better life. The promise of a better life comes at a cost, and he must risk his safety to seize the opportunity. He has set out on a dangerous journey to deliver an unknown package to the post-apocalyptic wasteland, where his life or death might be at stake. The loudmouth stranger, aided by a vehicle thief, must fight off marauders and even clowns to deliver the package to safety.
