Ullozhukku OTT Release Date: After receiving lobe & lauds from movie buffs on the big screens, Christy Tomy’s hard-hitting Malayalam movie Ullozhukku is soon expected to arrive on the digital screens.
If the latest reports are to be believed, Amazon Prime Video has bagged the film’s streaming rights and is all set to roll it out on its platform in the coming days. Although no official information about the drama entertainer’s exact OTT release date is out yet, sources suggest that viewers can expect the movie to make its digital debut anytime between 9-16 August 2024.
The movie stars Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu as the leading duo whose top-notch acting performance was one of the main reasons for its commercial success at the Box Office. Meanwhile, viewers can also enjoy Christy Tomy’s other intriguing movie titled ‘Curry and Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case’ which is currently available for streaming on Netflix with a basic subscription to its services.
Ullozhukku Plot
Written by the film’s director Christo Tomy himself, Ullozhukku, set in the flood-hit part of the South Indian state Kerala, follows the tale of two ladies Leelaand Anju, with the latter leaving no stone unturned in looking after her bedridden husband Thomaskutty for years.
However, Anju’s attempt to save Thomaskutty from the looming threat of death goes in vain as he finally passes away, leaving her & her mother-in-law (Leelamma) faced with the extremely hard challenge of burying his dead body amid heavy floods.
As the waterlogging caused by flood waters postpones Thomaskutty burial multiple times, a chain of events triggers, igniting a major rift between the members of the family.
What happens next & how such challenging times lead to the unavailing of some dark long forgotten secrets from Leelamma’s family’s past is the remaining story of the film.
Cast and Production
Besides Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu sharing the frame as lead actresses, Ullozhukku also sees Smruthi Anish, Jaya Kurup, Prasant Murali, Alencier Ley Lopez and Veenah Naair in supporting roles.
Honey Trehan, Abhishek Chaubey, and Ronnie Screwvala have produced the compelling drama under the banner of MacGuffin Pictures and RSVP Movies.
