‘Varisu’ OTT Release: Thalapathy Vijay’s action-drama to stream on Amazon Prime Video from this date

New Delhi: Thalapathy Vijay’s superhit Telugu film ‘Varisu’ has got its OTT release date. The Telugu film will release on Amazon Prime Video on February 22. The streaming platform and producers Sri Venkateswara Creations shared the poster of the film and made the announcement. The film did well at the box office and is now set to entertain the audience on the small screen.

‘Varisu’ will release on OTT in three languages, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, who won hearts with the song ‘Ranjithame’, Sangeetha, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Shaam, Prabhu, Meka Srikanth and others. The music in the film is composed by S Thaman and the cinematography is done by Karthik Palani.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film revolves around Vijay Rajendran who has to manage his family business after his father becomes terminally ill. The film is a perfect feast for Vijay fans as it also has references from films like ‘Thuppakki’, ‘Bigil’ and ‘Master’. It is another one of Vijay’s action thrillers that are just meant to entertain his huge fanbase and is a fine family drama to spend your weekend with.

Vijay said that he is excited that fans from 240 countries will be able to access the film on the OTT platform, while director Vamshi Paidipally called it a complete family entertainer for all age groups.

The film was released in theatres last month and had a gross global collection of more than Rs 300 crore. It was Thalapathy Vijay’s second movie after ‘Bigil’ to cross the Rs 300-crore mark.
