Vicky Kaushal opens up about his family’s treatment of Katrina Kaif

He humorously mentioned that whenever he calls his mother, the first question isn’t about him. Instead, it’s invariably centered on Katrina’s well-being.

New Delhi: Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, Bollywood’s beloved power couple, have been at the center of attention ever since they confirmed their relationship and subsequently tied the knot in 2021. Recently, Vicky Kaushal shed light on how his family has warmly embraced Katrina Kaif, revealing that in Punjabi families, there’s no concept of a daughter-in-law, only a daughter.

In an interview with Curly Tales, Vicky shared some endearing insights into the dynamics within his family post-marriage. He humorously mentioned that whenever he calls his mother, the first question isn’t about him. Instead, it’s invariably centered on Katrina’s well-being.”Jab bhi main phone agar kabhi main kar raha hu mom ko to pehla sawaal mere baare me hota hi nahi hai (whenever I call mom the first question is never about me)…It is always ki Katrina kidda hai, thik aa (How’s Katrina? Is she okay?)” Vicky said. He further emphasized, “In Punjabi families, there’s no concept of daughter-in-law. Wo daughter hi hai. (She is the daughter).” Vicky also revealed that his parents had been longing for a daughter, especially since there were two boys in the family.

In a separate interview with Instant Bollywood, Vicky Kaushal shared his approach to resolving conflicts within their relationship. He candidly stated that he often takes the initiative to apologize, even when he might not be at fault. He explained, “Sometimes I admit when it’s not my mistake also. Drama kisse chahiye yaar, admit karke life simple ho jaati hai (Who wants drama? Owning up makes life simpler).”
