New Delhi: ‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri and actor Pallavi Joshi have reportedly bought an apartment worth Rs 17.92 crores in Mumbai’s Versova. As per the reports, he paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.07 crore for the registration of the deal. His film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films this year, having a worldwide gross collection of about Rs 340 crores.
According to the reports, the couple bought their new apartment in a building named Parthenon. Their apartment is on the 30th floor and is spread over a 3,258 sq ft area. The reports also say that the couple bought the apartment directly from the developer, Ecstasy Realty. Also, there are three car parking slots in their new property. According to Economic Times, the value of their apartment is more than Rs 55,000 per sq ft.
The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was made on a budget of about Rs 20 crores, while it earned Rs 252 crores in India. The film dealt with the mass exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley. It starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty and Chinmay Mandlekar in the lead cast. The film earned a lot of appreciation for highlighting the issue, while it was also criticised for promoting propaganda.
Recently, Vivek Agnihotri congratulated the ‘Chhello Show’ (The Last Film Show) for being selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars. There were speculations and people hoped that ‘The Kashmir Files’ will be sent as India’s entry for the Academy Awards.
