New Delhi: A video of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy criticizing actor Kareena Kapoor for allegedly ignoring her fans on a flight is making waves on social media.
The billionaire businessman was invited as a guest speaker for a discussion at IIT-Kanpur earlier this year. While sharing one of his personal experiences, Murthy recounted his flight journey from London to India, where he was seated next to the fifth-generation Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan.
During the discussion, Narayana Murthy said, “The other day, I was coming from London, and next to me was Kareena Kapoor, sitting in her seat. So many people came to her, and they said hello. She didn’t even bother to react.”

His wife, Sudha Murty, who was also present on stage, defended Kareena Kapoor, suggesting that as a Bollywood star, she might have been tired and accustomed to the constant attention from millions of fans. She stated, “She must have a million admirers. She must have been tired,” highlighting the overwhelming attention that Bollywood stars often receive.
Narayana Murthy further emphasized his point, stating that showing affection and acknowledging fans’ greetings is essential, even if done in a cryptic manner. He saw it as a way to reduce one’s ego and promote humility.
