New Delhi: Bollywood actor Mallika Sherawat, who is all set to return the big screen with the movie RK/RKay, recently said about how some people in the industry talked about her body and glamour but not about her acting skills.
In a recent interview to Prabhat Khabar, Mallika also compared her role with Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan.
Mallika Sherawat said, “what Deepika Padukone did in Gehraiyaan now, I had done that 15 years ago”.
It was in 2002 when Mallika Sherawat made her Bollywood debut with Jeena Sirf Merre Liye.
However, she rose to fame with Murder.
She further said that now, heroines are more confident about their bodies as well. Mallika further said that when she did Murder such hue and cry was created. People then were too narrow-minded. She also said that there were a a section of the industry and media who was mentally torturing her.
The film is helmed by Shakun Batra. Apart from Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa also featured in Gehraiyaan.
On the work front, Mallika Sherawat, is waiting for the release of RK/RKay, starring Rajat Kapoor, Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey and Manu Rishi Chadha in pivotal roles.
The film will be released on July 22. Helmed by Rajat Kapoor.
