Yatra 2 OTT Release Date: Details to know about when and where to watch this biographical drama starring Jiiva & Mammootty

Yatra 2 OTT Release Date: On March 8, 2024, the movie will reportedly be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

New Delhi: The story of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh’s government, is the inspiration for Yatra 2. The prequel – Yatra, was a biography of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, YS Jagan’s father and the late Andhra Pradesh chief minister. This film is a sequel to Yatra. While the first part focuses on the father’s life, the sequel follows YS Jagan as he assumes a political role after his father’s death.

Plot

Yatra, the biographical political film by Mahi V. Raghav, has a scene near its conclusion. At the end of his padayatra, Congress leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy comes charging towards a platform to speak to the assembly, signalling the end of the yatra, as he waves to a huge throng of fans as a song proclaims the coming of a great leader.

His son Jagan’s story will now begin to unfold in Yatra 2. Superfans and moviegoers alike praised Jiiva for his portrayal of YS Jagan in Yatra 2. While some have criticized Yatra 2 as propaganda, the film’s creators have denied the accusations, stating that the film just aims to highlight the struggles endured by YS Jagan in his pursuit of the office of chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

When and Where to Watch?

The most recent development is that the film’s over-the-top rights have been purchased by Amazon Prime for an exorbitant sum. On March 8, 2024, the movie will reportedly be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Cast and Crew

After Mammootty portrayed former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Yatra Part One, Jiiva would take on the character of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM’s son.

Both films were directed by Mahi V Raghav, who received good reviews. Critically and commercially, Yatra, the first part, was a smashing success. Unfortunately, despite positive reviews, Yatra 2 bombed at the box office and was already out of cinemas within a week of its release. However, Mahi received accolades for consistently emphasizing the film’s emotional aspects.

The production of Mahi V. Raghav’s Yatra 2 under his label, Three Autumn Leaves, cost an absolute fortune.
