New Delhi: Zoya Akhtar has wrapped the shoot for her upcoming film ‘The Archies’. The director shared the news on social media, sharing some pictures which show the cast and crew celebrating Christmas. There was cake cutting and cast pictures on the last day of the shoot. The Netflix film is an adaptation of the popular comic book series Archies, created by John Goldwater and Bob Montana.
Zoya Akhtar, sharing the pictures, wrote that it was the ‘best Crew and best Cast’, and she feels gratitude at the moment. While the cast members cut the cake, the whole cast and crew came together for a group photograph.

The film stars Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda and Vedang Raina. This marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya, the late actor Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana. However, Suhana has done a short film ‘the Grey Part of Blue’.
The film is directed by Zoya and co-written with Reema Kagti and Ayesha DeVitre. Zoya and Reema Kagti are also on board as the producers of the film. Ankur Tiwari and the Islanders composed the music for the film. The film is set in the 1960s in the fictional town of Riverdale. As said by Zoya Akhtar, ‘The Archies’ deals with the Anglo-Indian community in India. The film is expected to release next year. ‘The Archies’ is a musical film, which has a rom-com teen drama genre.
