New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl gave birth to a baby girl at her home in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city after watching YouTube videos and killed the newborn on Sunday, said Police.
The minor is an alleged victim of sexual exploitation.
Police said she was sexually exploited by a man with whom she got acquainted on social media.
Officials said that she did her baby bump by telling her mother that she was having some health issues.
To maintain the secrecy, the 15-year-old, who is a resident of Ambazari area, planned to deliver the baby at home by watching videos on Youtube.
The girl delivered the baby at home on March 2nd and immediately strangled the newborn to death.
The officials said the girl kept the body in a box in her home.
After the girl’s mother returned home and questioned her health condition, then she narrated it to her. Following this she was taken to the hospital.
The body of the newborn has been sent for postmortem.
Under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, a case has been registered.
Also, murder charges will be invoked after the postmortem report, said police officials.
Meanwhile, further police investigation is underway.
