New Delhi: The bhoomi pujan of Ram temple in Ayodhya will be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5 and the preparations are in final phase for the grand occasion.
BJP veterans and Sangh leaders are expected to attend the bhoomi pujan ceremony at Ayodhya. For thousands of Hindu saints and seers, it’a moment to celebrate, as they believe, the homecoming of Lord Ram after 500 years. The UP BJP unit has also made elaborate arrangements for celebrating the occasion in the entire city as Diwali.
However, what is startling is Congress ‘changed’ stance on Lord Ram and Ram Temple. The party which questioned the existence of Lord Ram is singing paeans for the Almighty. Priyanka Gandhi today eulogized the Lord Ram by writing in detail about why he is Maryada Purushottam and what does he signify.
Priyanka also hoped that the ground-breaking ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya become an occasion of “national unity, fraternity and cultural congregation.”’

The Congress general secretary released a statement, in Hindi, a day ahead of the ceremony scheduled in Ayodhya. Vadra stated that Lord Ram has an impact on the culture of the Indian subcontinent and around the world and he belongs to everyone. Quoting poets such as Maithilisharan Gupt and Nirala, the Congress leader highlighted the many attributes of the Lord and added that “Ram wants the welfare of anyone, that is why he is the ‘maryada purushottam’.”
“On August 5, 2020 the ceremony for bhoomi-pujan of Ramlala’s temple has been scheduled. With the blessings of Lord Ram, may this event spread his messages of national unity, brotherhood, and cultural harmony,” Vadra said.
Meanwhile, not just Priyanka Gandhi but another senior Congress leader Manish Tewari today welcomed the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan and greeted the fellow citizens on the occasio.
Tewari, in a tweet, quoted the famous bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram..’ which was widely popularised by Mahatma Gandhi and coupled it with a picture of Lord Ram and goddess Sita.

Ramarchan puja begins at Ram Janmabhoomi
Meanwhile, Ramarchan puja has begun at Ram Janmabhoomi site ahead of the foundation laying ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Ramarchan Puja is a prayer to invite all major gods and goddesses ahead of Lord Ram’s arrival.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday offered prayers at the Hanuman Garhi temple during his visit to Ayodhya to take stock of the preparations for the ‘bhoomi pujan’.
He along with officials also visited ‘Ram ki Paudi’ to inspect the arrangements ahead of the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5.
