Anurag Srivastava replaces Raveesh Kumar as Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson

With degrees in engineering and business management, Srivastava worked in the corporate sector before joining the Indian Foreign Service. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Oxford, UK.

New Delhi: Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Anurag Srivastava replaced Raveesh Kumar as the new external affairs spokesperson today.

“Honoured and privileged to take over as the Official Spokesperson of @MEAIndia. I look forward to working closely with all to fulfill my responsibilities in this new role,” Srivasatava tweeted from the official handle of MEA spokesperson.

Kumar, the outgoing MEA spokesperson wished his succesor for the new role.

“Time to pass the baton. After 33 months of an incredible opportunity to serve the nation, my best wishes to Anurag Srivastava as the next Official Spokesperson of @MEAIndia. Grateful for the understanding and support of my family, friends & colleagues during this journey,” Kumar tweeted from his personal handle.

Anurag Srivastava earlier served at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in Geneva.
