Assam Shocker! Man beheads villager over ₹ 500 bet on football match, walks with severed head for 25 kms

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man in Assam allegedly beheaded his fellow villager following a fight over ₹ 500 bet on a football match. After the incident, he walked with the severed head for 25 kms to reach police station where he surrendered.

The incident is said to have taken place on Monday in northern Assam’s Sonitpur district.

The man beheaded the villager after the football match was over, the match was organised on the occasion of Independence Day.

According to reports, victim had requested a loan of ₹ 500 from the accused but the latter had refused.

After the killing, the accused had carried the severed head home where his elder brother reportedly tried to beat him after which he managed to flee.

Later, the accused Tuniram Madri walked 25 km to reach the police station. He also surrendered with the severed head and handed over the machete with which he had killed Hemram.

The accused and the victim belonged to the same community.
