Ayodhya Deepotsav: Over 5 lakh diyas lit up, ‘Treta Yug’ comes alive on the banks of Saryu (VIDEO)

Ayodhya Deepotsav: The scene of `Tretayuga’ came back to life again as Lord Ram, along with Goddess Sita and Laxman touched the grounds of holy city on `Pushpak Viman’ after completing 14 years of exile.

New Delhi: Deepotsav celebrations began in the holy city of Ayodhya today, in presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The scene of `Tretayuga’ came back to life again as Lord Ram, along with Goddess Sita and Laxman touched the grounds of holy city on `Pushpak Viman’ after completing 14 years of exile.

Governor and CM Yogi offered prayers to Lord Ram and welcomed Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lakshman as descended on the Saryu bank in a ‘pushpak viman’ – a helicopter.

Chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ reverberated in the atmosphere even as thousands of devotees watched the magical event with enthusiasm.

CM Yogi Adityanath offered prayers on behalf of the devotees and people after which the scenic reunion of Lord Ram and his brother Bharat took place bringing alive the memories of Lord Ram’s coronation ages ago amidst vedic chants, though this time on the stage set up at the Ramkatha park.

The Chief Minister also bowed before ‘Ram’ and sought blessing for the people’s welfare.

The Chief Minister, who arrived in Ayodhya for the Deepotsav, first went to Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and offered prayers for welfare of people on the auspicious five-day festival Deepawali.

Ayodhya glitters in glow of earthern lamps

Creating a world record of sorts, a whopping 5.51 lakh earthen lamps were lit up at dusk. The sheer look and feel of over 5 lakh diyas simultaneously created a mesmerising experience not just for devotees but for thousands joining the event via virtual mode.

Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘making possible the construction of Ram Temple even during the pandemic’.

“Covid had posed a huge challenge this year. But under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, we not just overcame the pandemic, but also remained successful in beginning the construction of a grand Ram Temple at the Janambhumi site,” he said.
Later, he lit diyas at Ram ki Paidi.

“We have celebrated Deepotsav following all COVID-19 guidelines, we must follow the same during the construction of Ram Mandir. Let us pledge to observe ‘do gaj ki doori, mask hai zaroori’ during this Diwali,” CM Yogi said.
